The world we live in

There are many facets to mordern living. For instance technology , education, finesse , class etc. is supposed to create a better world however, the year 2006 seemed to be besoted with so much violence. The hanging of dictators, the ever killing of innocent women and children in Dafur, Iraq, and bombings in spain. What is this world we live in coming to? Today, i contemplate on the weather, its bright and warm for January in toronto. The meteriologist says its above seasoning temperature, the artic snow is melting, the sahara desert is expanding and peoples ways and means of living increasingly vanishing. Existence on this planet is becoming increasingly difficult for those who do not have the means to. Hope however keeps people expectations and anger in check.
Now that the year 2007 has arrived, some of us still carry on the tourch of hope , thinking of how we can possibly effect change in  peoples lives and hopefully in the world.

The first leg of John Dumelos' Canadian journey has been completed. There are two more city tours, Montreal and Ottawa. The event aptly named A TOUCH OF CLASS took place at 227 Lounge in Toronto. The rain could not dampen the spirits of movie enthusiast who wanted to meet the iconic actor, entrepreneur and socialite. There were the young, the old and in-betweens.
The night was orchestrated by Kofi Mogul of blackstarzworld. Present at the event were the notables of the African entertainment industry in Toronto. In the crowd were music producers, musicians, promoters , afro entertainment, ghanalinx entertainment, CEO of African entertainment awards, M.C Bonde, MC Ebone, MC Obie , Akan movie star Nana Kwame Osei and many others.
The night was a classic of superb hip life music by sound masters. An African focused gathering cannot be completed without Azonto dance. A notable Azonto dancing at the centre stage was by John Dumelo with the ladies (the man was so hot one woman run away), picture time with fans was abundant. John also premier his jewellery line J.Melo. The jewellery can be described as simply elegant, subtle sophistication, an addition to a night out with the special someone or just a little bit of pearls for church.

Qweci

QWECi is young and easy going; he has a smooth silky and velvety voice. Based in New York, QWECi does his music production, writing, instruments, and arranging from his studio. A musician by training, he has it all, and using it very well. Comparable to the likes of Seal, Osibisa and Kojo Antwi, Qweci is making his mark on the Ghanaian music scene and the Diaspora with his afro-pop/afro-soul music. The artist formerly known as Ded Buddy has reinvented himself and is making a hurricane of a comeback with style and swag. He has a unique sound, and definitely rebranding himself as one of the best musicians in afro-pop/afro-soul music genre at present. There are musicians of caliber and Qweci is proving to be one of them with his hit mipe wo saa. The single is making waves on the Ghana music scene. Qweci is no ordinary artist. He knows the meaning of artist sustainability; hence his hiatus from music was about positive self development. Qweci studied music and marketing at the Bronx Community College in the USA. From there, an internship with Colombia records to study marketing.
“There is a reason for everything, find a way to make
It well for yourself and everyone around you”
QWECi's music is about representing Ghana internationally; the artist realizes the feat and is seriously working on his art to rival the best the world has to offer. The future is to show case the diversity of Ghanaian music to the world. Qweci will be participating in the WMC (world music conference) this year in the United States. Earlier this year, he participated in the Voda Phone Industry Awards, performing the catchy track mi pe wo saa, mpese wo ho, so ja. Qweci states that he enjoyed the event very much; the ambience was great, the crowd pleasant, and a positive energetic atmosphere. He had all the good vibes. “I am glad to be back amazing”
Every artist has a message Qweci states that the message in his music is about love and inspiration. He aims to give children with autism, a chance to find comfort. His songs are dedicated to his world wide fans. Mi pe wo saa: Qweci loves his fans as they are, poor or rich, young or old, sick or well. He loves them all the same and appreciates them as they are.
Before Qweci there were the Native Funk Lord (Eddie Blay jnr., Cini Quaye, and Jake) a rap group of which he, was a member. The Qweci brand is on its way. The uniqueness his name says it all. Contemporary in its spelling, it's both African and Western, a merger of the two. Qweci is humble, owns his craft. He possesses the self assurance of a seasoned artist. Qweci will soon embark on the Peace Awareness Tour in Ghana courtesy of his dynamic management. His song so ja is dedicated to peace in Ghana in the upcoming election year.
Music has been Qweci's passion since childhood. His father wanted him to become a medical doctor. However, the literary prone young man chose the literary arts He has emerged as an amazing and talented artist, a melodious and intricate songwriter: A hit maker. Qweci is not only a musician but a fashion stylist as well. He aims to help other artist create their distinct look alongside their sound thereby creating a brand of distinction for them in the music industry. He is backed by a dynamic management team with Nana Yaw Osei –Darkwa, Jake the Snake, Ricky Asare and Phil Black. Gratitude of thanks is expressed to the Ghanaian media and the worldwide media, all the D.J's and V.J's and the entire fan base.
